摘要:By employing a combination of operator transformation technology and virtual source method, we explore the characteristics of elliptic Gaussian beams with cross-phase (EGBwCP) in both paraxial and nonparaxial regimes, building upon prior research for circular Gaussian beams. Our analytical and numerical results confirm that paraxial EGBwCPs exhibit a unique behavior where their elliptical intensity patterns continuously rotate at a controllable speed during propagation. It can produce a more elongated and narrower elliptical spot with 90-degree rotation after the self-focusing distance, with the cross-phase emerging as a crucial factor. Additionally, we provide a general expression to determine the paraxial approximation and nonparaxial corrections of all orders for elliptic Gaussian wave with cross-phase. We examine the effect of the lowest-order nonparaxial correction (to Ε2) on the on-axis intensity in detail, observing its significant influence, including the induction of two rounds of focusing behavior near the self-focusing position. Importantly, our flexible method, combining the operator transformation technology and virtual source method, can be conveniently extended to explore other novel structured beam configurations, expanding its utility in various scientific applications. ? 2024, The Authors.
