摘要：《了不起的盖茨比》是菲茨杰拉德的经典代表作之一,小说通过盖茨比的形象反映了其曲折的生活和悲惨的命运,深刻地揭示了美国人在"爵士时代"的崇拜金钱、道德沦丧以及"美国梦"的彻底破灭。从某种程度而言,小说主人公盖茨比是菲茨杰拉德的化身。因此,将围绕"美国梦"对菲茨杰拉德及盖茨比的形象进行探微。
The Great Gatsby, one of Fitzgerald's most classic masterpieces, reflects his tortuous life and tragical fate through the image of Gatsby, and deeply exposes the social evil of money admiration and the American Dream's disillusionment in America's Jazz Age. So to a certain degree, Gatsby in the novel is considered as the incarnation of Fitzgerald. A study on Fitzgerald's and Gatsby's images around'the American Dream'will be made.
